What we collect
Listening. When you press Play or Stop, we note the station, the show, when
you started and stopped, why it ended, and the player settings in use (theme, bitrate
preference, format filter). It is tied to a random id in a sub92_anon
cookie. If you are logged in, it is also linked to your account, so your listening
history is kept with it.
Page views. The page path, the time and that same random id.
We do not store IP addresses in our database. The web server keeps them in its logs for a short time, to limit abuse.
Your account, if you make one. Your email, how you sign in, your Google account id if you use Google, and when you last logged in. Your saved list, with any notes you add.
On your device. Your theme, bitrate, format filter, volume, last station and news avoider settings live in your browser's storage. Only the three settings named above are sent with a listening session; the rest never leave your device.
What we use it for
Mainly to know how listening time is spread across stations: when SUB92 passes donations on to stations, each station's share follows the time people spent listening to it. Also to show what people are tuning in to, to keep your saved list, to see which settings matter, and to keep the service running.
What we don't do
No ads. We never sell or share your data. No third-party analytics. No tracking across other sites.
Who else sees you
When you press Play, your browser connects straight to the station's stream, so the station sees your IP address like any listener. Station logos load from the station's own site. "Continue with Google" gives us your email and Google id; Google's own policy covers their side. The cast button loads Google's Cast code only when you tap it.
Cookies
sub92_anon (one year), the login cookie (30 days, not readable by
scripts), and a short-lived cookie during Google sign-in. None are used for tracking,
so there is no cookie banner.
How long we keep it
Listening sessions and page views stay as anonymous history. Account data stays until you delete your account.
Your choices
Download your saved list as CSV or JSON, or delete your account, from Saved. Deleting removes your email, saved list and login; your past listening stays as anonymous history, with the link to your account removed. Questions: contact@sub92.fm.
Children
SUB92 is not meant for children under 13.
